JOB DESCRIPTION  

Toddlers Class Teacher (for children below 3 years)  

Reporting to: Toddlers Centre Manager/Head of Preschool  

The Asia Pacific Schools, in partnership with The International Schools Partnership (ISP), equips students for local and  

global success by delivering Amazing Learning and offers both the international and Malaysian National curricula in  

the Klang Valley, Malaysia. The Asia Pacific International School offers the international curriculum (IGCSE) from Early  

Years through to Secondary and have been rated 5-Star by the Malaysian Ministry of Education.

We are currently seeking to hire a full time Toddlers Class Teacher to join us as soon as possible.

To provide Amazing Learning opportunities so that students continually get better through the delivery of high-quality  

teaching and the creation of effective resources.

Key Responsibilities  




Teach an inspiring and appropriate Early Years Curriculum following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)  

guidance.  

Be accountable for the attainment, progress, and outcome of students you teach, and monitor every child’s  

progress against the Early Learning goals, whilst following the EYFS curriculum.  

Set clear and challenging EYFS targets that build on prior attainment for each student; use an appropriate range  

of observation, monitoring and recording strategies as a basis for setting challenging learning objectives for  

students of all backgrounds, abilities, and dispositions, monitor learners’ progress and levels of attainment.  

Be aware of students’ capabilities, their prior knowledge and plan teaching and differentiate appropriately to  

build on these, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of how students learn, use and evaluate distinctive  

teaching approaches to engage and support them all.  







Pastoral Care  


Establish a safe, purposeful, and stimulating environment for students, rooted in mutual respect, and establish a  

framework for discipline using a range of strategies, praise, sanctions, and rewards consistently and fairly.  

Manage the class effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students’ needs to inspire, motivate,  

and challenge.  




Maintain a good relationship with students, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary.  

Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive behaviour, attitude and values which are  

expected of students.  

Other duties and responsibilities  



Work collaboratively with others to develop effective professional relationships.  

Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding students’ achievements and well-being using school  

systems.  





Regularly review the effectiveness of your teaching and assessment procedures and their impact on students’  

progress, attainment, and well-being.  

Be responsible for improving your teaching through participating fully in training and development opportunities  

identified by the school or because of your appraisal.  

Undertake any other reasonable duties requested/assigned as required by SLT or Line Manager, especially  

regarding the school’s administrative function.  

Always follow the school’s policies and procedures.  

Communication, marketing, and PR  


To ensure professional and effective communication and consultation, as appropriate, between colleagues,  

parents and students at Asia Pacific International School  



Publicise and celebrate achievements  

Assist with the organisation of open evenings, consultation events and other events relating to the school  


To contribute to marketing activities for Asia Pacific International School

Fully and positively participate in the school’s performance appraisal scheme in order to develop and  

enhance personal and service performance

Skills, Qualifications and Experience  





Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Diploma in Education/Teaching  

Minimum three (3) years’ full time teaching experience in an international primary school  

Computer literate with good interpersonal communication skills  

Fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
