Regional Lead-Projects

 

Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Regional Managing Director, the Regional Lead-Projects is responsible for ensuring the on-time completion of all new build and expansion construction in strict compliance to statutory laws of the region and ISP standards. This role requires the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with individual school leaders, ISP management, the regional leadership team, external stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to ensure the delivery of positive outcomes across the region. This role involves frequent travel within the region and occasional travel beyond this.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project roadmap and ensure alignment to ISP revenue and expansion plans.
  • Liase with development partners and their representatives to align project plans, design in line with ISP standards and guidelines.
  • Review project milestones and report weekly, fortnightly, monthly as required by ISP.
  • Monitoring project budgets to ensure costs are within reasonable limits.
  • Reviewing plans for design and advising on opportunities for improvement
  • Monitoring the work of engineers to ensure that they are adhering to industry standards and best practices
  • Providing technical support to contractors during the construction phase of a project
  • Developing project timelines, including phases of implementation, completion dates, and milestones along the way
  • Assisting in the development of bids for projects that may be put out to bid by clients
  • Ensuring that all applicable laws and regulations are followed during construction
  • Review engineering drawings and suggest improvements in line with ISP guidelines.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate or post graduate degree in Civil Engineer or related engineering stream.
  • 12 – 17 years of post-education work experience
  • Experience in school building construction with leading school management service providers
  • Experience in commercial building construction with reputed developers
  • Planning and project management skills. Certified project management professional will be a plus.
  • Knowledge of Civil protection, fire department, labour law, health and safety, construction parameters and educational infrastructure’ requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Additional language skills an advantage.
