Key Responsibilities 

  • Supporting both the existing site team and all other departments for both preventative and reactive maintenance and ensure the smooth running of the schools and boarding houses in accordance with legislation and company procedures. 
  • Responding and prioritising maintenance requests, ensuring all staff are safe and the schools and boarding houses are fully functional. 
  • A good knowledge of all maintenance tasks from electrics, plumbing, carpentry, general building work and painting and decoration are required for this position. 

The current position being offered is for the applicant to be based predominantly at our boarding houses, looking after any maintenance issues that arise. These are located on Sedlescombe Road (Clyde House) and Upper Lake, Battle (Pyke House). Both houses need constant decoration and much of your time will be carrying out this activity. 

Key Requirements 

  • Minimum GCSE English and Maths (grades A - C). 
  • A good experience and knowledge or background of electrical, plumbing and carpentry skills.
  • Clean driving licence. 
  • The skills and experience to be able to carry out the above maintenance tasks to a high standard and be able to work as part of a team. (No two days are the same). 
  • Verbal communication skills to be able to deal with colleagues, parents and pupils in an appropriate style. 
  • An ability to pay close attention to detail to ensure that all work undertaken is accurate
  • Knowledge of the importance of Safeguarding. 

This is a full-time position with working hours 7.30am till 4.30pm. Some occasional out of hours working maybe required but will be compensated accordingly. In return, we offer a competitive salary from £25,000 per annum, personal pension and 25 days per year full paid holiday. (Not including public holidays).
