Tenby International School Setia EcoHill is one of the newer schools in the Tenby family and is set in a wonderful 14-acre campus with outstanding facilities. Purpose of Role

 

Tenby Setia Ecohill is keen to employ an enthusiastic and EY TA. The school prides itself on a progressive approach to teaching, with lessons including dynamic collaborative activities and a challenging pace. The successful candidate will be able to lead exciting lessons which inspire students to achieve amazing results.

The school has been growing quickly over the 3 years and the IGCSE results have been strong. The successful candidate will be expected to continue this trend and contribute to the wider school life and other extra-curricular activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • taking responsibility for the progress of a class .
  • organizing the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment
  • planning, preparing, and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class
  • motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative lessons
  • maintaining discipline
  • preparing and marking work to facilitate positive pupil development
  • meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development
  • providing feedback to parents and careers on a pupil's progress at parents' evenings and other meetings
  • coordinating activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • working with others to plan and coordinate work
  • plan and run a weekly CCA
  • become involved in organising at least one whole school event

 

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
  • Have a recognized teaching qualification (e.g. PGDT, PGCEi or similar);
  • Have experience and excellent knowledge of teaching students across Key Stage 3 and 4;
  • Have significant experience working with students for whom English is not their first language, including those with very little English at all;
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience;
  • Be willing to participate in educational visits;
  • Use a wide range of strategies to assess and support language acquisition;
  • Be asked to run one after school activity each term;
  • Have a positive and solution finding approach to their working life;
  • Appreciate the joys and challenges of working in an international school environment;
  • Candidates with experience of teaching in an international secondary school are especially welcome.
