SALARY:                               $90,000 - $100,000 commensurate with education and experience

 


Due to the continued growth within the USA and Canada Region of the International Schools Partnership (ISP) we are looking for inspiring individuals who want to join us on this journey and become part of our regional People Operations (HR) team.

 This is a remote position accepting applications in the following states ONLY - FL, LA, WA, GA, TX.

 

Purpose of Role

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, driven, and passionate Regional Payroll & Benefits Manager to join our regional People Operations (HR) team. Under the direction of the Regional Head of HR, you will process a complex payroll for eight (8) schools and a regional team (multi-state and country) – FL, LA, WA, GA, SC, TX, MI, Canada, totaling 700+ employees (and growing). You will be responsible for executing accurate and timely bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll schedules (currently on three (3) platforms – Paycom, ADP TotalSource & Ceridian) – until our transition to one platform. Additionally, this role is responsible for benefit administration to include enrollments, inquiry resolution, changes, and reconciliation of invoices for payments, and serve as the first point-of-contact for payroll and benefit inquiries within the region.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a payroll and benefits “guru”, have high attention to detail, be “hands-on roll-up your sleeves”, and can move between multiple competing priorities, and manage a busy payroll portfolio of work, ensuring compliant benefit administration and applicable wage and hour laws. The Regional Payroll & Benefits Manager will be someone who can manage their assigned tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume HR team/department, create a positive HR customer-service centered experience in each interaction, and work collaboratively within the regional HR team and other key partners/stakeholders. Occasional travel is required throughout the region (up to 25%).

Key Partners to This Role: Heads of School, School Finance Directors, Regional Finance Team, and your colleagues on the regional HR Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead payroll operations for the region to include - processing, reviewing, and balancing/reconciling bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll accurately – time, earnings, benefit deductions, taxes, and any other items that affect pay.
  • Responsible for the full payroll and benefits “life-cycle”; to include applicable items related to employee onboarding, offboarding and day-to-day HR needs during the employee’s tenure.
  • Ensure payroll is completed following internal controls and segregation of duties as the “processor.”
  • Responsible for “checks & balances” working closely with the other members of the regional HR team to ensure payroll data, systemically, aligns with backup documentation in employee files.
  • Oversee payroll-related end-of-year reporting including w2 requirements.
  • Responsible for working in conjunction with the school/regional finance teams to reconcile payroll (as applicable).
  • Responsible for responding to all payroll and benefit inquiries from employees via a payroll inbox – using a customer-service centered approach.
  • Create a case-management process to track payroll issues and resolutions. Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders as needed to ensure timely resolutions.
  • In partnership with the Regional Head of HR, the Regional People Operations Manager, and our benefits broker - administer benefit programs, and being able to be the subject-matter expert.
  • In partnership with the Regional Head of HR, the Regional People Operations Manager, and our benefits broker - coordinate yearly Open Enrollment - including meetings and distribution of materials.
  • Partner with other regional HR team members to ensure all employee life-cycle tasks and responsibilities are completed.
  • Ability to learn and efficiently, effectively, and accurately use multiple payroll platforms (Paycom, Ceridian and TotalSource).
  • Knowledge of the applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Experience in supporting and being a key part of implementing payroll cycle changes and new HRIS/Payroll implementation projects.
  • Create ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Develop, design, implement and maintain payroll policies and procedures, including documentation and training materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage self to multiple deadlines.

  • Proficiency in MS Office – especially MS Excel.
  • Internet savvy with the ability to navigate and manage multiple employee benefit changes on multiple carrier websites.
  • Ability to learn and operate computerized HR technology.

Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, human resources, accounting or a combination of education and experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5+) years of progressive experience in payroll and benefits administration for 500+ employees.
  • Working knowledge of multi-state/country wage and hour requirements.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) - Preferred
