About the Mosaic School

Mosaic School offers a  bilingual programme  based on the  PER – Plan d’étude romand  and the  English National Programme.

In order to allow each child to fully benefit from Mosaic’s bilingual programme, the school has set up a compulsory language  tutoring programme  for students from 3P (6 years old) who will not have spent 3 full school years in a French/English bilingual education. 

Our academic programme is supported by  three projects (Foreign Languages & Civilizations, Science – in cycle 3, and free project in cycles 1 and 2 – and the End of Year Show) which bring the school together around transdisciplinary subjects.

We also take into account the  diversity of intelligences  and offer our students an enriched programme of theater, dance, music, non-Latin languages (Arabic, Russian and Mandarin) and various sports (swimming, sailing, climbing, PSE).

Furthermore, our programme answers the challenges of a changing world (migrations, artificial intelligence, social networks, etc…) by developing attitudes and skills in students that will be increasingly valuable in tomorrow’s world. 

Core Purpose:

The purpose of the role of the Bilingual Teaching Assistant is to provide support to the students and the class teachers of the school inside and outside of the classroom. They assist the teacher in providing in class support for children with their work, along with other tasks of a more general nature.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

• English & French speaker
• 3 years' previous experience in primary education.
• Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
• Applicants must have experience in working in primary schools and be excited by the challenge of contributing to the various projects developed at Mosaic during the school year.
• Ability to work in a way that ensures the safety and well-being of children.
• Very good communication skills with colleagues and parents
• Be dynamic and have an interactive approach.
• Be flexible to work part-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Contributes appropriately with lesson planning
• Including the organization and management of books/files for individual children.
• Prepares materials or equipment for class lessons, group work or for individual children.
• Assists groups of children or individuals with their tasks.
• Reads stories to groups of children.
• Prepares any ICT equipment (for example: computers, iPad, digital camera, DVD, Bee Bot, etc.).
• Accompanies children on visits.
• Prepares Art and Craft materials and/or tidy them away.
• Supervises children using the cloakroom (toilet)/playtimes/start time and home times especially at transition times.
• Labels and stores equipment appropriately.
• Laminates and/or photocopy materials/resources.
• Take part, on a daily basis, in the Rota which provides supervision in the playground at playtimes and supervise at transition times especially at start time and home time
• Maintains confidentiality about personal details revealed by the children
• Reports incidents to Teacher and or Head of Early Years in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy
• Maintains and promotes the School’s professional reputation.
