ISP Power BI Developer Role Profile (ISP Wimbledon / Hybrid)

Purpose of Role

This role is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing interactive data visualizations and reports using Microsoft Power BI. This role involves collaborating with ISP’s Business Intelligence Managers to transform raw data into actionable insights, ultimately supporting data-driven decision-making within ISP.

ISP Power BI Developer Key Responsibilities


Report Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations in Power BI.
  • Gather and analyse requirements from stakeholders to create reports that address their specific needs.


Data Modelling:

  • Create and optimize data models within Power BI to ensure efficient data retrieval and performance.
  • Implement data transformations and ETL processes as needed.



Performance Optimization:

  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Optimize query performance, data refresh schedules, and report rendering.


Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to end users, ensuring they can effectively use Power BI for their reporting needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user issues related to Power BI.


Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree level in a numerate subject (e.g. Maths, Statistics, Economics, Operational Research or Computer Science) 
  • Proven experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI Desktop, Power Query, and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and data transformation.
  • Experience with data visualization best practices and principles.
  • Experience of SQL and database management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
