ISP Business Intelligence Manager – Learning

Role Profile

 

Purpose of Role

This role is responsible for bringing group-wide Learning performance/progress data to life, ensuring it is fit for purpose against a backdrop of an increasing number of schools and evolving business intelligence requirements.

Specific areas within Learning covered by this role include Academic Achievement, Student Pathways, International Learning Opportunities, Multilingualism and Life Competencies.

ISP BI Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Learning and Innovation team to ensure data requirements are clear and consistently defined and understood and the process for doing so is consistent with other data requirements.
  • Identify the relevant business processes and associated data sources relevant for meeting data requirements and work with the BI team and Lead Data Engineer to ensure organisational discipline around data capture.
  • Perform testing (QA) on reports to validate that Centralised Insights matches Databricks and source systems.
  • Create wireframes and lead the design of business intelligence reports and dashboards relevant for end users.
  • Take responsibility for developing insights from analysis of the underlying data and developing the organisational capability to use intelligence and insights in decision making.
  • Responsible for ensuring relevant stakeholders derive sufficient use/value out of the available intelligence (end user training).
  • Ensure that KPIs (Data Points) and reports are well documented and understood by the wider business.

 

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated and confident to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading the use of data to create business intelligence that leads to insight, decision making and action.
  • Ability to manage the evolving data requirements,
  • Passionate about data and confident in influencing stakeholders on the benefits of data insights
  • Collaborating with senior business leaders and functional / regional heads to put sufficient definition to those requirements for them to be actionable.
  • Experience of using Power BI as the tool of choice for data analytics and insight,
  • An understanding of SQL/database management and
  • The ability to lead adoption of a Power BI reporting solution across a portfolio organisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Exposure to DevOps and Databricks would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience of working in the education sector would be advantageous.
