Social Emotional Counselor (Pre-Primary)

 

 

REPORTS TO:                     Head of School

DIRECT REPORTS:           No

SALARY:                              $55,000-$62,000

Responsibilities:

  • 3-5 years’ experience with students ages 3-6.
  • Experience presenting SEL lessons in the classroom.
  • Offering classroom support-observations and recommendations.
  • Meet with students in groups.
  • Respond to in the moment emotional or behavioral issues.
  • Experience with creating routines to support students in.
  • De-escalation skills and experience.
  • Run parent meetings involving action plans.
  • Experience writing individual students, reviewing diagnostic testing.
  • Finding resources for parents.
  • Child development expertise.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in special education or a related field
  • Experience working in private school environments preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
