Drama Teacher (Pre-Primary)

 

REPORTS TO:                   Head of School

DIRECT REPORTS:           No

SALARY:                              $53,000-$56,000

 

About the role

The Pre-Primary Drama Teacher will work with our preschool and PreK students ages 3-5. The drama teacher will focus on beginning drama techniques and vocabulary. In the spring, the drama teacher will collaborate with the music teacher to direct and produce a performance. The drama teacher will be responsible for creating a 45-minute lesson weekly specific to each individual grade level they teach. The drama teacher will be responsible for grading, parent communication, classroom management and planning. This teacher will also serve as a substitute teacher on days when they do not have drama classes.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience working with children between the ages of 3-5.
  • Experience planning performances.
  • Lesson planning and grading.
  • Working collaboratively.
  • Classroom management.
  • Current MERIT account preferred.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or theater arts.
  • Experience working in private school environments preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
