Canteen Assistant
Purpose of Role
In order to reinforce its existing team, the Mosaic school is recruiting a canteen assistant.
The working time is 2 hours a day over lunch / four days a week..
The basic salary is CHF 26.35/hour.
The position will be filled as soon as the recruitment process is complete.
Canteen assistant are in charge of children during the lunch break. Their responsibilities include
setting up and serving meals to the children, then supervising and leading them during playtime
time before classes start again.

Key Responsibilities of Canteen Assistant at Mosaic
- Supervise groups of children aged 3 to 12 during lunch breaks in a caring and exemplary manner.
- Ensure that children eat in a calm and friendly atmosphere.
- Take part in supervising children at mealtimes and during playtime, ensuring that the rules of life are respected and that their well-being is safeguarded.
- Ensure the safety of the children entrusted to you, under the authority of the Canteen Manager.
- Enable them to eat in the best possible conditions.
- Lead educational activities during recess.
- Enforce internal and canteen rules.
- Participate, as part of a team, in the implementation of an educational project in line with the school project.
- Encourage curiosity about all the meals on the menu.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in animation or childhood appreciated.
- Alternatively, proven experience in children's activities and school group supervision.
- Calm, caring and exemplary.
- Punctuality and time management skills.
- Work independently and efficiently.
- Appropriate dress and vocabulary for children.
- Sense of teamwork
- Respect your duty of discretion.
- Ability to listen and observe, sense of responsibility.
- Know and respect safety instructions (prevention measures, emergency numbers, behavior in the event of accident or fire, etc.).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, teachers and management.
