Established in 1960, Tenby Schools Ipoh was the pioneer of the 6 Tenby Schools, which are now part of the International Schools Partnership. Purpose of Role
We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced Physical Education Teacher to join our dynamic teaching team to provide quality teaching and learning for our students. Both roles commencing in August 2025.

Key Qualities of a Successful Primary PE Teacher in an International School
  • Strong Subject Knowledge: A deep understanding of fundamental movement skills, sports, and games is essential. Teachers should be able to plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of their students.
  • Passion for Physical Activity: A genuine enthusiasm for physical activity and sports is crucial. Teachers should be able to inspire and motivate students to participate in a range of activities.
  • Effective Communication and Classroom Management: Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues. Teachers should be able to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe and motivated.
  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning: The educational landscape is constantly evolving. Successful PE teachers should be adaptable to change and willing to embrace new teaching methods and technologies.
  • First Aid and Safety Knowledge: A strong understanding of first aid principles and safety procedures is essential to ensure the well-being of students during physical activities.
  • Inclusive Teaching Practices:  Teachers should be able to cater to the diverse needs of all students, including those with special educational needs or disabilities. They should be able to modify activities and provide appropriate support to ensure that all students can participate and achieve success.
 
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
  • Possess at least a relevant bachelor's degree in education or bachelor's degree with a post-graduate qualification in teaching
  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably in an international school with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum   
  • A recognized swimming coach certification (e.g., Sports Science Certificate, Swimming Coaching Certificate or Bronze Medallion)
  • Patient, responsible, and passionate about teaching
  • Computer literate with good interpersonal communication skills
  • A team player and flexible to meet the needs of the department
  • Fluency in written and spoken English   
Desirable:
  • Experience working with children of different ages and abilities
  • Knowledge of various swimming techniques and strokes
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging lesson plans
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
