Aspen Heights British School is a truly inclusive school based on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi. We are proud of our inclusive ethos and our commitment to ensuring all children are provided with personalised learning experiences and the proper support to ensure they can make progress in learning in all areas.
Our commitment to inclusion is demonstrated by our ‘Oasis’ class provision. Children who attend our Oasis class are currently not able to access mainstream provision but, with the support of our inclusion teacher and TA, are supported on a personalised learning journey, supported by speech and occupational therapists who deliver sessions on site. Our team is committed, hard-working and supportive.
Overview:
We seek a suitably qualified special educator with a proven capacity to lead and effectively mentor a team of teachers, TAs and Inclusion Assistants. This demanding role requires a candidate with both appropriate qualifications and proven experience in the role of Special Educational Need Coordinator or Learning Support Coordinator. They will require initiative; will be empathetic and proactive, with a personable and positive character. The successful candidate will be required to collaborate with special educator colleagues across regional ISP schools, demonstrate a broad knowledge of disabilities and disorders, and be able to deliver or facilitate appropriate interventions and support in an academic setting. Experience working with students for whom English is an additional language would be an advantage.
