About the role

Located in the region, ideally with easy access to an airport, this role is fundamental to our strategy of building the ISP Group by further growing our regional cluster of schools in both these geographies.

The Investment Director will be accountable for identifying school acquisitions and new build opportunities, taking them through to LOI stage, ensuring ISP continues to develop a group of profitable and sustainable schools of choice. 

Reporting to the Group Chief Investment Officer, the Investment Director will manage the relationship through to deal close, working closely with the transaction team.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Deal Sourcing

  • Working with Market Research Analysts, using our in house software to identify and target school owners in your geographic area of responsibility
  • To build relations with those owners, over time, to move them to a deal
  • Writing the initial papers and initial financial model for submission to the Investment Committee
  • Drafting and negotiating the LOI with the vendor
  • Managing the handover over the deal to the execution team
  • In region to work with the Market Research analysts to devise marketing campaigns to vendors

Marketing to vendors and promoting ISP to the broker, advisor & investor community

  • Networking with brokers, advisors and investors to ensure that ISP is involved in all potential deals
  • Speaking at conferences and events, promoting ISP and our values and vision
  • Creating and maintaining a database of brokers, advisors and investors and ensure regular contact and communications with them

Working with the wider ISP team

  • It is important that knowledge is shared among the team, members should actively work to improve standard templates, central knowledge and internal processes
  • To support colleagues as and when required

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • Candidates must demonstrate financial acumen, ideally possessing a financial qualification.
  • Demonstrate business development experience, within education is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrating emotional awareness, candidates need to be self-motivated, results oriented with a positive attitude to working across teams and supporting colleagues
  • Technical skills must include – selling experience, negotiation skills, experience of legal processes and due diligence, financial modelling and funding
  • This is a leadership role, requiring excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build trust and develop strong working relationships, both with colleagues and third parties
